Make it a beach day! Join rangers Saturdays, August 3 and 10, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Indiana Dunes National Park’s West Beach. Activities will include kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, a sunset hike at 7:00 pm, and a beach campfire starting at 8:00 pm. All equipment is provided free, including mandatory lifejackets.

To join the one-hour sunset hike at 7:00 pm on the Dune Succession Trail, meet the ranger at the Contact Station located at the north end of the West Beach parking lot. The trail offers stunning views of the sunset over Lake Michigan with the Chicago skyline as a backdrop. A beach campfire, complete with marshmallow toasting, will start shortly after the hike.

Please note that there is a $6.00 per car parking fee charged from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
