Join park ranger Kip Walton and volunteer TJ Caracci to learn about backpacking for fitness and go for a hike at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore onSaturday, March 25, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Learn how to get stronger, burn calories have a healthier heart, and improve your posture all while exploring the beautiful trails of the national lakeshore. Come learn the basics of backpacking for fitness; a low impact fitness activity that you can do at any stage in your life. Meet at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center for a short presentation before heading to the Chellberg Farm for a hike. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring a comfortable backpack weighing 10-20 lbs. including water.
The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49, about one mile north of Interstate 94, in Porter, Indiana.
