INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Four artists, who worked as Artists-In-Residence this past year at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, will unveil their visual interpretations of the park at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 12, at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center. Mark Burkett, Susan Henshaw, Nancie King Mertz, and Jeanne McLeish will each present their artwork to the park and discuss their experience as an Artist-In-Residence at the national lakeshore.

The Artist-in-Residence program offers professional artists the opportunity to live in the park for two weeks so they have uninterrupted time to create art that helps generate understanding and encourages stewardship of the Indiana dunes. In exchange, the artist provides a public program and donates one piece of art created during their residency. The inspirational work created by these artists becomes part of the National Park Service collection and is displayed for the public to enjoy at the national lakeshore's visitor center.

The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49 in Porter, Indiana. For more information about the Artist-in-Residence program please visit the park website at https://www.nps.gov/indu/supportyourpark/air.htm or call the park's information desk at 219-395-1882.
