On June 22, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and its partners will present ArchiCamp – a one-day camp on the park's historic architecture and history for kids in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Fun, hands-on crafts, field trips, and talks by historic preservationists will help bring history to life to excite kids about local history and introduce career opportunities in historic preservation. Registration is now open, but closes on Wednesday, June 15. Please visit the park's website at www.nps.gov/indu for information and a link to the registration website. Or, go directly to the registration page at www.idnlarchicamp.eventbrite.com. There is a fee of $20 for materials, lunch, and snacks. In celebration of the National Park Service centennial anniversary and the fiftieth anniversary of the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, the National Lakeshore has partnered with Indiana Landmarks, the Friends of Indiana Dunes, Westchester Township Museum, and The Field Station Cooperative to present this program. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or check the park's website at www.nps.gov/indu. |
