INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: On Friday, August 18, from 6:00 pm to approximately 7:00 pm, the public is invited to join Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore's Environmental Protection Specialist Charles Morris, PhD, and his staff as they showcase live fish and other organisms found in the Little Calumet River. The program will begin at the Little Calumet River Trail Head Parking Lot. As visitors take a closer look at various live fish (and potentially crayfish, aquatic insects and more), Morris and his staff will talk about the biology of these animals and the ecological roles they play. During the event, visitors will also learn how these organisms help park managers assess the health of the Lakeshore's aquatic systems and even influence management practices.

The Little Calumet River Trail Head Parking Lot is located on Howe Road, approximately one half mile south of Oakhill Road, in Porter, Indiana. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or visit our website at www.nps.gov/indu and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IndianaDunesNL.
