Volunteers help visitors make connections with the many stories of Independence National Historical Park. Potential volunteers are required to complete a new volunteer training and undergo a successful background check. Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Independence National Historical Park is proud to announce an opening for a Community Volunteer Ambassador (CVA), a paid 48-week internship with the National Park Service, in partnership with the Stewards Individual Placements program of Conservation Legacy and AmeriCorps. The park is seeking a reliable, energetic, and organized person to join our team and collaborate on project related to community service, engagement, and volunteerism.

The position includes:
  • free housing
  • weekly stipend of $600
  • limited healthcare benefits (if eligible)
  • a professional development fund
  • eligibility for an AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,895 (pre-tax)
  • eligibility for Public Lands Corps Hiring Authority after successful completion of the program
To be eligible, applicants must be high school graduates, between the ages of 18 and 30 (up to 35 for veterans) and a US citizen or permanent resident.
