The Story Never Told

July 24, 2012 Posted by: Shamiah

"The land of the free and the home

of the brave"

America, "The land of the free and home

of the brave"

History has wrote down for all to know,

That this is the "land of the free and

home of the brave"

A land so grand, built on the

sweat of many whose story is never

told.  Next time you hear this, "Land of the free and home of the brave"

Think if you must about stories

you've heard,

Then think of how many stories are still

never told.

Shamiah, Thank you for honoring the voices of the unheard. You might want to check out some Liberty Poems my middle school students composed a few years ago. The poems are attached to this blog post-

Huzzah, huzzah! Well said. From Private Yankee Doodle to the person who was so inspired by Rosa Parks that they became the second person to refuse to give up a seat on a segregated bus, brave people make this country what it is. Will I be brave enough when the time comes?

I enjoy hearing the true stories our heros of the past. Maybe you will be a storyteller of the history we are making now.

You are right there are probably more untold than told stories. With this piece you are telling a story and sharing your thoughts. Bravo for you!
