The National Park Service maintains several partnerships agreement in support of Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail.

National Park Service is authorized under section 3(l) of Public Law 91-383 (16 U.S.C. 1a-2(l)) to enter into cooperative management agreements. Public Law 111-11 future clarified that, for the purposes of cooperative agreements, Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail shall be considered a unit of the National Park System and authorized the Secretary of the Interior to enter into cooperative agreements with public or private entities to carry out this section. The National Park Service is actively seeking additional candidates for partnership with Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail.

Benefits of becoming a formal partner with the Trail include:
  • Technical Assistance – NPS Expertise in planning and interpretation to reach and share the story of your partner site.
  • Protection & Development – Guidance and planning assistance on various issues such as site protection, historic preservation and visitor use management.
  • Potential preferred project funding when available. Participation and partnering on NPS grants. Assistance in competing for outside funding.
  • Use of the official trail insignia and logos on signage, potential inclusion on the Official NPS website and NPS App for the Trail, possible passport stamp location and access to the NPS brochure for the Trail.

The National Park Service maintains an overarching General Agreement with the other Federal Agency's in the region. Together these Agencies form a Technical Advisory Committee organized to support Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail. Member Agencies are listed here:
