National Park Service Invites Public Comment on the Glen Echo Park Management Plan Amendment/Environmental Assessment
Glen Echo, Md. — The George Washington Memorial Parkway invites the public to comment on a management plan amendment and environmental assessment for Glen Echo Park in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The National Park Service will evaluate options to expand arts programs, improve accessibility and visitor wayfinding, and add environmentally sustainable features. The agency will consider updates to existing buildings, construction of new facilities and possible changes to areas managed by Montgomery County and the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture.
The plan will focus on practical, affordable options that protect the park’s historic and cultural resources. The National Capital Planning Commission will review and approve the preferred approach.
The National Park Service will accept public comments for 30 days starting February 12 and seeks feedback on the alternatives in the environmental assessment, their potential effects on park resources and additional ideas.
