ANNUAL PHOTO CONTEST
We want to see the way you see Great Basin National Park! To do this, we're going to be asking you to send in some of your best pictures of the park from 2021. Whether it’s of wildlife, scenery, or recreational activities, we want to see it and share it!

“Fan Favorites” will be featured on the Great Basin National Park Facebook page. Submit up to three of your own photos, and log on to Facebook to vote for your favorites in early January 2022.

CONTEST RULES
There are three categories open for judging: scenic, wildlife, and recreational activities. The photo(s) must have been taken by you in Great Basin National Park between October 27, 2020 and December 31, 2021.

Photos of people: Do not submit photos that clearly identify people. This opens multiple legal issues about whether or not the people in the photo have granted permission to have their image used in a public forum. If you choose to share a photo with a person(s) who is unidentifiable in it, please keep these photos appropriate for the family-friendly nature of our Facebook page. People in the photos must be demonstrating good stewardship of the parks and enjoying the
parks in a manner consistent with the laws, rules, and mission of the National Park Service.

Inappropriate photos will be deleted.

We will start accepting submissions on October 27, 2021 at 8 AM, and the contest will run until January 3, 2022. The last possible time to submit a photo will be January 3, 2022 at 5 PM.

Please submit photos in the largest size possible.

Each fan may submit up to three photos and you may submit the same photo for different categories. That is, if you have a beautiful photo of a golden eagle soaring over Wheeler Peak with a hiker in view, you can submit it to all three categories: scenic, wildlife, AND recreation.

Every photo entry the park receives as part of the contest becomes the park’s property. The park will have non-exclusive, unlimited use of the photo(s). Use of these photo(s) shall include, but is not limited to: audio-visual programs, museum exhibits, websites, publications, news releases, public service announcements, internal communication, and product artwork. Additionally, you waive the right to inspect or approve any use of the material and any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the material. The park will provide photo credit when it is deemed practical.

A high-resolution version of the winning photo(s) must be emailed to the park contest coordinator. You still own the photo and may use it however you see fit.
The contest is open to legal residents of the United States, 18 years or older. Federal government employees currently working at Great Basin National Park and their family members are excluded from participating in the contest.

TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS
You can submit your photo(s) saved as a .jpg file to grba_interpretation@nps.gov.
Please label your submission “2021 Photo Contest Entry”. Any photo that is not labeled “2021 Photo Contest Entry” will not be considered – we currently receive photos from our fans just for fun. The “2021 Photo Contest Entry” tells us that you have read and understand these contest rules, intend to have your photo be part of the contest, and understand that every photo submission that the park receives as part of the contest becomes the park’s property. In the email let us know which catergory or categories you wish your photo to be entered. Also include either an email address or a phone number with mail entries, so that you may be contacted if you are a winner.

Prizes are as follows:
• Fan Favorites (in any category): The top three photos in each category with the most likes on our Facebook page by January 31, 2021 will be used as the Great Basin Facebook cover photo for one month each, with recognition for the photographer.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook. Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the promotion will be directed to Great Basin National Park, not Facebook. Each entrant agrees to indemnify, release, and hold harmless Facebook from any liability, damages, losses, or injury resulting in whole or in part,
directly or indirectly, from that entrant’s participation in the contest and the acceptance, use or misuse, of any prize that may be won.
