Position Description:Volunteers comb through reference materials, either on or off site, to add to our growing body of knowledge regarding the history of Governors Island and its relationship to New York Harbor, New York City, American and world history. Once information has been uncovered, volunteers may have the opportunity to provide content for the park's web site, informational/interpretive flyers and text for exhibit signs.
Wednesday - Sunday, June- mid October
Monday - Friday, end of October - May 30th
Suggested Number of Hours: 8 hours/week
- Volunteers will receive training from the Volunteer Coordinator and park staff.
- Volunteers will wear a standard uniform during the season. National Park Service Volunteer patches are provided by the park.
- Government Housing is not available.
