Contact: Katie Lawhon, 717-338-4402 Gettysburg National Military Park invites the public to view the 2017 Solar Eclipse on the Gettysburg battlefield. This unique celestial event is anticipated to begin at approximately 1:15 PM, obscuring 78% percent of the visible sun. Viewing stations will be set-up at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, as well as at Auto Tour Stop 15, near the High Water Mark, on Hancock Avenue.A limited number of free eclipse viewing glasses will be available free of charge on a first come first serve basis. WHEN: Monday, August 21 from 1 PM - 3 PM WHERE: The Gettysburg National Military Museum and Visitor Center and Auto Tour Stop 15, near the High Water Mark, Hancock Avenue. WHAT: Solar Eclipse 2017 Viewing Station. A limited number of Eclipse viewing glasses are provided free of charge on a first come first serve basis Gettysburg National Military Park preserves, protects and interprets for this and future generations the resources associated with the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, during the American Civil War, the Soldiers' National Cemetery, and their commemorations.
