The Civil War Trust and Gettysburg National Military Park are partnering to host a one-day volunteer event called Civil War Park Day on April 1. This one-day nationwide event brings Civil War enthusiasts together in an effort to help keep our nation’s Civil War heritage not only preserved, but pristine.

Gettysburg National Military Park is participating. Volunteers are needed to cut brush and clear vegetation near Devil’s Den and Plum Run. Registration is required and tools will be provided.

“Our Civil War sites need the public’s help,” said Ed W. Clark, Superintendent of Gettysburg National Military Park. “Park Day is a great opportunity for some hearty volunteers at Gettysburg to help care for the historic terrain of Devil’s Den and Plum Run.”

Please email Matthew Gutt to register. Additional information is available on the Civil War Trust website.

Gettysburg National Military Park preserves, protects and interprets for this and future generations the resources associated with the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, during the American Civil War, the Soldiers' National Cemetery, and their commemorations.
