Gateway National Recreation Area (GATE) Public Affairs Office news releases are available via RSS feed. RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) technology allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the web sites you are interested in so that you don’t have to regularly check each site.

You will need to have RSS reader software (a program that collects and displays RSS feeds) in order to subscribe to GATE news releases. If you already have this software, or if you are using a web browser that has it built in, you can subscribe to the park’s news releases by going to the GATE web site at: www.nps.gov/gate/parknews/newsreleases.htm and clicking on"Subscribe" next to the RSS symbol.

Feeds are a great way to learn about weekly programs and events at the park. Currently, public comments and ideas are being sought for a new General Management Plan for the park. A General Management Plan is a strategic document that outlines the future management of a National Park Service site for the next 15 to 20 years. The plan sets the basic philosophy and broad guidance for management decisions that affect the park's resources and the visitor's experience. The plan will take several years to complete and involve employee, general public, visitor, stakeholder and other agency input. The park is hosting a series of Open Houses in July and September to solicit input from the public regarding the future management of park. The schedule of dates, times and locations for these Open Houses can be found at www.nps.gov/gate

At this time, all GATE news releases will continue to be distributed by fax to all who are on the park’s fax distribution list as well as being available via RSS feed.
