As of July 1, 2012, the Visitor Center at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island has closed for building repairs and for a much-needed restoration of museum exhibits. It is anticipated to reopen by spring 2013.

The park will continue to offer tours and visitor services at the site, such as the popular Lanterns Tours, tours of Fort Tompkins, and special events such as those presented by Staten Island OutLOUD.For more information and full listing of park programs, visit the park website: www.nps.gov/gate
