The staff at New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, led by Superintendent Lizzie Watts, manages three impressive and exciting units of your national park system; New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, Bluestone National Scenic River, and Gauley River National Recreation Area.

New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, Gauley River National Recreation Area, and Bluestone National Scenic River offer spectacular scenery and a wealth of recreational opportunities. The diversity of natural and historical resources found in these national park areas is being preserved as part of a larger family of nearly 400 nationally significant places which make up the National Park System.

As one of nearly 300 million visitors to America's national parks, we hope that you not only have a safe and enjoyable visit, but that you also take away a deeper understanding and appreciation of your role as stewards of these special places.
