Often stories of cowboys and soldiers highlight the Western Frontier. However, women were also there for the highs and lows of the romanticized “Wild West.” Many of these first American women in the present day southwest braved journeys overland down the Santa Fe Trail.

rom Susan Magoffin to suffragist Julia Archibald Holmes, join Dr. Leo Oliva and discover the adventurous lives of some women writers who forged their own story in the American Frontier. This program will be held at the CCHP Santa Fe Trail Interpretive center at 116 Bridge Street in Las Vegas, New Mexico on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 7:00PM.

This program is free in partnership with the Citizens Committee for Historic Preservation. For more information, please contact Fort Union National Monument at (505) 425-8025.
