Two rangers smile at the camera with Fort Sumter's latest Junior Ranger, a stuffed wolf!

Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie has a self-guided Junior Ranger program for children 5 years and older at each site. The official NPS Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie Junior Ranger program is a way to introduce children—and those young at heart—to the history of the forts and their own role in preserving this history for the future generations. Junior Ranger booklets can be found at both the Fort Sumter Visitor Center and the Fort Moultrie Visitor Center.
After completing the age-appropriate requirements described inside the booklet and having your book reviewed by a park ranger at a visitor center, you will be awarded an official Fort Sumter or Fort Moultrie Junior Ranger badge! Modeled after the National Park Service patch, these badges are shaped like an arrowhead and feature either the bombardment of Fort Sumter (for Fort Sumter!) or Sgt. Jasper saving the flag (for Fort Moultrie!)
Can't make it to Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park? Not a problem. Our Junior Ranger books have been archived online!
