Fort Smith National Historic Site brings history to life. We tell the story of Indian Removal, Federal Indian Policy, Westward Expansion, Deputy US Marshals, Outlaws, the Justice System, and more. This site was an 1800s military fort that later turned into a federal court and jails. Students can experience first-hand where this history took place through an engaging and educational field trip.
