MANTEO, N.C. — Law enforcement rangers at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site are seeking the public’s assistance for information regarding a recent investigation of an alleged theft of personal items that occurred within the park on June 6.

Case details:

  • At approximately 10 a.m. on June 6, as Manteo High School’s graduation ceremony was concluding, someone allegedly stole personal items from a table in front of the park’s visitor center.

  • Surveillance footage from around the time of the alleged crime show a male suspect picking up items from a table in front of the park’s visitor center and departing the area.

  • This is an ongoing investigation. Additional details are not available at this time.

Anyone with information that may help to identify the individual in the photos below is asked to submit tips on the Dare Community Crimeline website.
