Elizabethan Era English

Conceived by Sir Walter Raleigh, the English colonization of Roanoke Island brought sailors, privateers, members of the military, scientists, artists, and more to the Outer Banks. They all engaged in the first attempts to form English colonies in the new world, beginning with an exploratory expedition in 1584 and culminating with the disappearance of the Lost Colony in 1590.
