Patchogue, NY – The National Park Service invites you to explore the William Floyd Estate this season from May 25 to November 11, Friday through Sunday and holidays. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a new exhibit, the June 2 Tri-Hamlet Day celebration, and Old Mastic House Tours this spring, and special events and programs throughout the summer and fall.

“A Celebration of 300 Years” Exhibit
Friday through Sunday and holidays, May 25 through November 11, 2018
View on an Old Mastic House Tour, offered every 30 minutes from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
To celebrate the 300-year anniversary of the purchase of the Old Mastic Farm by Richard Floyd, Jr., three centuries’ worth of artifacts and stories will be shared in this new exhibit. Never-before-seen artifacts will be on display throughout the house and stories spanning the centuries will be told. The Floyd/Nichols family, who occupied the house and land, loved Mastic and the exhibit is a tribute to their efforts to preserve as much as they could through the centuries.

Tri-Hamlet Day Celebration

Join the free, seventh-annual Tri-Hamlet Day celebration highlighting the cultural and environmental history of Mastic, Mastic Beach, and Shirley on Long Island. The William Floyd Estate will host free activities throughout the day including a decoy carving demonstration, Old Mastic House Tours, and Living History with the 3rd New York Regiment. Parking may be limited; a free shuttle is available from William Floyd High School.

Old Mastic House Tours
Friday through Sunday and holidays, May 25 through November 11, 2018
Offered every 30 minutes from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Take a tour of the Old Mastic House and explore 25 rooms and more than 250 years of American history. The Old Mastic House contains a variety of architectural features and artifacts from three centuries of American life, the story of the family, and their use and enjoyment of this place.


The William Floyd Estate, which was authorized as an addition to Fire Island National Seashore, is located on the mainland of Long Island. Two hundred and fifty years of history are preserved at the Estate. Visitors can explore the 25-room "Old Mastic House" and the grounds, including twelve outbuildings, the family cemetery, and 613 acres of forest, fields, marsh, and trails.
