There are many opportunities to work for the National Park Service. At Fire Island National Seashore a number of temporary employees are hired each year in several career fields. Summer seasonal positions are generally advertised from late January through early spring. Vacant permanent positions are occasionally announced.
Please see or below for a list of current openings. You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify and a valid state driver's license is required for most positions.
Fire Island National Seashore also offers internships during the field season. Interning is a great way to gain experience in a variety of National Park Service career fields.

Lifeguard Requirements
