Midway Geyser Basin

Although called “Midway” because of its location between the Upper and Lower Geyser Basins, this area was once known as “Hell’s Half Acre.” It contains two of Yellowstone’s largest hydrothermal features: Grand Prismatic Spring and Excelsior Geyser.
