Earn a Junior Ranger Badge!
The Junior Ranger Program is a great way to learn about your national parks, whether you are a kid or kid-at-heart!
To earn a Junior Ranger badge from El Malpais National Monument, you or the Junior-Ranger-to-be must complete the number of activities that correspond to your age group. If you are a not-so-junior ranger, please complete the whole book. After you finish the activities, talk to a park ranger to complete your Junior Ranger oath.
You can receive your booklet in person at the El Malpais Visitor Center, download and print it out at home, or contact us to receive one in the mail. If you pick up a booklet on a visit but will not be in the area to earn your badge, the booklet can be mailed to the El Malpais Visitor Center so rangers can look over it.
