Mei Jia Lin Significant Meaning (Transcript) Interviewee: Mei Jia Lin In the process of creating the murals, which part of the murals hold the significant meaning in your life and in what ways are you showcased in the murals? “Technically, I am an immigrant but I came here at a very young age and I had no memory of it. I do remember stories from family saying how it was a struggle to get the whole family. First my parents came, and when they arrived, they then came back to get us… Even now; we are trying to get my grandparents here after ten years. I am proud to be an immigrant, I am a U.S. citizen now, but the process of going through the immigration and naturalization test is more complex than it was before. You can still become an American citizen. It is just more difficult than now.”
