Labor Standards Interviews

Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Construction Management Representative (CMR), or Project Manager (PM)

  • Conduct periodic interviews with workers on the job (interviews each new trade as a new phase of work is started by the contractor or a subcontractor) using Standard Form (SF) 1445 Labor Standards Interview.
  • On SF 1445, complete Interviewer's Comments section by checking against submitted payroll data. Sign, date, and attach SF 1445 to respective payroll report for period covered by interview. Forward to Contract Specialist (CS). If discrepancies, immediately notify CS and COR. (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.222-8 Payrolls and Basic Records)
  • Conduct interviews with minimal disruption to on-going work. Information gathered from interviews is confidential. Do not disclose information to worker’s employer unless specific authorization is obtained in writing from CO.
