Closure imposed under the discretionary authority of the Superintendent

In accordance with regulations and the delegated authority provided in Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 1.5, authorized by Title 16, United States Code, Section 3, the following closure is established for the proper management, protection, Government and public use of the portion of Dry Tortugas National Park under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service.

This discretionary regulation is in addition to the other regulations published in Title 36, CFR, Chapter 1, Parts 2 through 7.

1.5 Dry Tortugas National Park closure
The following temporary closure is needed to ensure public safety due to Hurricane Ian, and in order to allow for orderly and safe utilization of park resources and prevent damage to facilities.

Effective at 6 PM October 13, 2022, this notice supersedes all previous announcements of closures regarding the Dry Tortugas National Park due to Hurricane Ian. Marine waters will continue to be open. Limited emergency services. The following park closures are now in effect. Garden Key: the eastern half of the main pier, all finger piers and slips and the dinghy beach between the finger piers and the South Coaling Dock as well as the South Coaling Dock Ruin proper. Loggerhead Key: the Loggerhead Key Historic Preservation/Adaptive Use zone closure is identified on the attached file. These areas will be closed until further notice.
