#DRYTORTUGAS PHOTO CONTEST GRAND PRIZE WINNER HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED

We want to congratulate the grand prize winner of the Dry Tortugas Photo Contest, Andrzej Sienko! He was also our January 2015 photo contest monthly winner. His grand prize winning photo received 27,662 votes! Check out his interview!

We also want to congratulate Adrian Henson and Jody Hildreth who came in second and third place, respectively as well as all of our participants!

A total of 11,746 photos were submitted and a total of 74,774 votes were cast.

In cooperation with the Yankee Freedom Ferry and the Seaplane Official transportation providers of the park, we urged our visitors to participate - either by vote or by entering photographs - in this 2015 year long photo contest open to all park visitors.

The Dry Tortugas Ferry has donated a number of great prizes for each winner and for grand prize winners. Each photo contest participant took a photo (or even chose a past photo) of the beautiful Dry Tortugas, tagged #DryTortugas and shared it on Instagram or Twitter. The contest was held from September 2014 to August 2015. Five photos were selected each month by our panel of judges and displayed for a public vote. At the end of each month the photo with the most votes won! Monthly winners received a National Park Annual Pass and were entered for a grand prize drawing of a $500 Visa gift card!

Each winning photo will be gallery framed for the national exhibition at the Dry Tortugas National Park Centennial Celebration and will also be featured online by the Dry Tortugas National Park and Yankee Freedom.
