Escape into the Wild at Cumberland Gap

With miles of scenic trails, remote campsites, and fewer crowds, the backcountry at Cumberland Gap National Historical Park is the perfect place to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. Whether you’re setting out for a day hike or a multi-day trek, the rugged beauty of this landscape promises breathtaking views, abundant wildlife, and a journey through history.

One of the best ways to experience the park is along the 21-mile Ridge Trail, which runs the length of the park and connects to multiple trailheads. Hiking along this ridge offers sweeping mountain vistas, serene forest paths, and historic sites that tell the story of those who traveled here before you.
