Cumberland Gap National Historical Park was established in 1940. Today the park encompasses approximately 24,000 acres and contains a wide array of natural and cultural resources. Management of the park and its resources is carried out by staff with various roles including: Visitor and resource protection, interpretation and education, maintenance, science and resources management, and administration. Management objectives focus on protection of park resources while providing enjoyment for all park visitors. |
