Operating Hours & Seasons

All units of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park are open for visitation during daylight hours (all units are closed to public use activities one half hour after official sunset to one half hour before sunrise, unless authorized by issuance of a special use permit).

• Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30 am to 5 pm Eastern Time.

• Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30 am to 5 pm Eastern Time.

• The Point Park Main Entrance Gate, atop Lookout Mountain, opens daily at 8:30 am .

Both Visitor Centers are closed on Christmas Day and on New Years Day.

The Wilder Brigade Monument at Chickamauga Battlefield, U.S. Highway 27 Picnic Area, and Signal Point restrooms are closed December 1 through March 15 every year due to weather conditions. In addition, during the winter months, the America's National Park's bookstore at Chickamauga Battlefield is closed on Sundays from 9am to noon. The rest of the week it is open from 9 am to 5pm.

 

The summer season provides a wider variety of ranger led programs for the public. The summer season is from Memorial Day to August. Throughout the year, the park offers special programs,check the calendar for more information.
