The Chattahoochee River begins its journey to the Gulf of Mexico as a trickel in north Georgia, near Jack's Gap in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some 436 miles later it joins the Flint river forming Lake Seminole on the Georgia/Florida border. From there the combined waters flow to the Gulf of Mexico by way of the Apalachicola River.
