The Purple Giant Hyssop (Agastache scrophulaiifolia) is a perennial herb in the mint family. It grows 3-6 feet in height and blooms from July-September with reddish-purple flowers. It prefers moist, rich soils and can grow in either sun or shade. Its conspicuous, fragrant flowers attract butterflies, native bees, honeybees, and bumble bees. It can be found on rich woodland borders, forested floodplains, and river terraces, especially over magnesium-rich soils. |
