Dutchmans Pipe

Dutchmans Pipe
Aristolochia tomentosa

Nick Turland

Dutchman's PIpe (Aristolochia tomentosa) is a perennial vine with dark green leaves that can climb 72-100 feet. It grows in partial shade and prefers moist soils. It is named for its conspicuous yellow, green, and purple flowers, which resemble a pipe and bloom in spring. The flowers attract butterflies, specifically the pipevine swallowtail butterfly.
