Special events such as recreational activities, filming, and commercial photography may require a Special Use Permit. Please refer to the current Superintendent's Compendium on the Laws & Policies page for a complete list of activities and areas. A nonrefundable processing fee of $150.00 must accompany the application. Your permit may require the payment of cost recovery charges and/or proof of liability insurance. First amendment activities do not require an application or fee but may be limited to specific areas.

COVID-19 Update - March 26, 2020Following guidance from the CDC and recommendations from state and local public health authorities, Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center and campgrounds are temporarily closed. All park trails and parking areas remain open. However, restrooms, drinking water and trash receptacles are unavailable. Please plan your visit accordingly.
