HARKERS ISLAND, NC - The National Park Service welcomes the public to join park staff on Saturday, November 10th at the Harkers Island Visitor Center of Cape Lookout National Seashore as we investigate the Critters of the Night. This free program is open to all visitors. Scouts, home-school groups, and other organizations are asked to call ahead to help us plan for your group. When the sun sets and many creatures are going to sleep, others are just waking up.Come and discover some of the mysterious animals which make the park come alive in the dark of the night.Live night animal ambassadors from the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter will be on display and we may see others during the Night Hike activity.The constellations named after animals will be identified as we look at the night sky.Listen to animal tales and legends while relaxing around the campfire.Be sure to bring your chairs and blankets to make it more comfortable around the fire.
