Harkers Island, North Carolina. Acting Superintendent Charles Cranfield announces that the hours of operation and available facilities for Cape Lookout National Seashore are changing for the winter season. The Light Station Visitor Center and the museum in the lighthouse keepers' quarters will close for the season on November 20.
Ferry services will continue to operate as the weather permits. When planning a trip to the islands, call ahead to the ferry to verify its operational status.
The Harkers Island Visitor Center will remain open and its hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The Harkers Island Visitor Center will be closed for the holidays on December 25 and January 1. The 26 minute film, Ribbon of Sand, is shown daily upon request. The film is open captioned and individual listening units are available for assisted listening and audio description. |
