Harkers Island, North Carolina -- The National Park Service welcomes the public to join park staff on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Harkers Island Visitor Center of Cape Lookout National Seashore as we celebrate Critters of the Night.Scouts, home-school groups, and other organizations are asked to call ahead to help us plan for your group. When the sun sets and many creatures are going to sleep, others are just waking up. Discover some of the mysterious animals which make the park come alive in the dark of the night. Live animals will be viewed in exhibits and seen during the Night Hike. Critter named constellations will also be viewed through binoculars. Listen to Tales and Legends while relaxing around a campfire. Be sure to bring your chairs and blankets to make it more comfortable around the fire.
