Superintendent Russel J. Wilson welcomes the public to join us Sunday, April 25 outside the Harkers Island Visitor Center of Cape Lookout National Seashore as we celebrate Junior Ranger Day and National Park Week.
Experience the seashore through Ranger lead programs below and earn the limited Junior Ranger Day 2010 certificates, badges, and patches as you learn about the plants, animals, and people who have weathered the storms of Cape Lookout.
We will also be kicking-off the “Cape Lookout National Seashore – A Place for All People” summer day camp program organized by Cape Lookout National Seashore and the Core Sound Waterfowl and Heritage Museum. This program will provide meaningful learning experiences for rising 7th and 8th graders from four diverse groups in Carteret County by providing them with hands-on experience with the region’s unique natural and cultural history. Fort Macon State Park, Carteret County Schools, Communities in Schools, and Carteret County Boys & Girls Club are all partners in this program.
