Social Media

Why Social Media?

The National Park Service not only protects beautiful landscapes, rich histories and unique culture, but works hard to share information about these national treasures with all Americans. Social media is a valuable outlet to share these stories about Cape Krusenstern National Monument and the Arctic.

Social Media Commenting Policy

Cape Krusenstern social media was established as a forum to strengthen your connections to the park and to encourage you to share experiences of the park with each other. You are welcome to "like" and comment on status updates, links, photos, and video clips posted by park staff and volunteers on Facebook & Instagram.

If you wish to express a comment about something related to the park in a formal and official capacity, several established methods and mechanisms are at your disposal. To get started, please visit our Park Planning page or contact the park directly at (907) 442-3890.

While our social media sites are open forums, they are also a family friendly. Please keep your comments and wall posts clean. We welcome your comments and hope that our conversations will be courteous. You are fully responsible for the content of your comments.

We do not discriminate against any views, but we reserve the right to delete any of the following:

  • off-topic comments

  • violent, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist comments

  • comments that threaten or defame any person or organization

  • comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity

  • multiple, successive off-topic posts by a single user

Communication made through any social media service’s e-mail and/or messaging system will in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to the U.S. Department of the Interior (or bureau) or any official or employee of the U.S. Department of the Interior (or bureau) for any purpose.
