WASHINGTON—The National Park Service (NPS) will overseed and aerate the grass in the center and northern portions of Lincoln Park this spring. To help ensure the project’s success, the NPS will close the center and northern portions of the park from April 17 through June 30.

We can all play a part in taking care of the grass at Lincoln Park. Help us preserve the grass:

  1. Leash and clean up after your pet. It’s the law, and you’ll keep others safe and protect the grass.
  2. Observe closures. Giving the new grass a chance to grow strong will make it ready to be played on this summer.
  3. Stay off wet grass. If the ground is wet, walking on it can compact the soil and damage the roots, resulting in another cycle of reseeding.
