Harrison, Ark. – As the Independence Day holiday approaches, the National Park Service reminds the public that fireworks are strictly prohibited at Buffalo National River and all National Park Service lands. This long-standing federal regulation is in place to protect public safety, wildlife, and the park’s natural beauty. Fireworks can spark wildfires, disturb wildlife, and pose serious risks to visitors and park staff. Park rangers will be patrolling throughout the holiday weekend to ensure compliance and violations may result in fines or other enforcement actions.“Buffalo National River is a place of peace and natural wonder,” said Angela Boyers, Superintendent of Buffalo National River. “We ask everyone to help us preserve that by leaving fireworks at home.”
Important Reminders:
Fireworks are always illegal on National Park Service lands, regardless of weather or season.
Many local communities surrounding the park are hosting firework displays.
