Contact: Casey Johannsen, 870-449-4311 Starting Tuesday, September 5, 2017 the Buffalo Point Campground flush restrooms and shower facilities will be closed for the remainder of the season. There will be “porta johns” installed for visitors to use in areas adjacent to the current restroom facilities. The existing water treatment system received the overall award from the Arkansas Water Works & Water Environment Association in 2012 for Small Wastewater Systems and is still fully functional, but the park was fortunate in receiving funding for the system update this year. Due to construction, D and E Loops will be closed to all campers beginning September 5. A, B, and C Loops will remain open from September 5 through November 15, but strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. The walk-in tent sites, Pavilion 2, and Pavilion 3 will also remain open during this time on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will be unavailable through www.recreation.gov. The five group sites and Pavilion 1 will have flush restrooms available and can be reserved through November 15. The Buffalo Point Concession cabins will also remain open and available for reservations this fall. Please call the Buffalo Point Visitor Contact Station at 870-449-4311 for further information. |
