Contact: Casey Johannsen, Buffalo Point Interpretive Ranger, 870/365-2776 As Buffalo National River kicks off the National Park Service's Centennial year we want to acknowledge the support the park has received thus far from our partners within the local community. The Harrison Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has been instrumental in the kick off of the state wide Centennial Iron Ranger Challenge. Matt Bell, executive director of the Harrison CVB, provided the park with 50,000 promotional cards and posters to help us advertise this year long program. These are available at local canoe outfitters, fitness centers, chambers of commerce, and the Boone County Library. The park's friends group, Buffalo National River Partners (BNRP), has also been assisting the park with event planning and logistics, in addition to providing supplies and volunteers, coffee and cocoa. Our interpretative programs and events are greatly enhanced by the added energy of our BNRP volunteers. Buffalo National River is privileged to have the support of our local community and is looking forward to working with others in the area as 2016 progresses.
