We hope that presenting Lincoln's own words in speeches, letters, and proclamations will encourage a deeper understanding of the nation's 16th president's life, accomplishments, and legacy.Lincoln believed that America's greatest strength lay in guaranteeing its citizens their natural rights and opportunities to succeed.
