Please keep the following in mind while visiting the site:
- Mississippi summers are sunny, hot, and humid. Sunscreen, a hat, and plenty
of drinking water are recommended if you spend time outside.
- Be alert for fire ant hills while walking around the monument site, and
avoid stepping on these hills.
- To avoid falls, and damage to the historic artifacts, please do not climb or
sit on the monuments and cannons.
- Bees, wasps, and other biting insects can nest in the cannons; do not reach
into, or look directly into the cannons.
