Join a National Park Service ranger Saturday April 21, 2007 for a morning hike to the Twin Arches, one of the most magnificent geological features of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The hike will begin from the parking lot at Twin Arches Trailhead at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The group will talk about geology, history, plant life and more during the 0.7 mile hike to the base of the Twin Arches. While the hike involves several sets of stairs, the group will stop often along the trail. The total round trip hike is 1.4 miles and will last approximately 1 hour. Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and to bring plenty of water and snacks or a lunch. Insect repellent is also highly recommended. For more information, or driving directions to the Twin Arches Trailhead, please call the Bandy Creek Visitor Center between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at 423-286-7275. |
