17th Annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival to be

 

Held Saturday

 

The Seventeenth Annual "Haunting in the Hills” Storytelling Festival will be held this Saturday, September 19, in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The day's events begin at 10:00 a.m. with activities scheduled throughout day.

 

10:00 a.m.        Folk Art Workshops, Demonstrations and Sales

1:00 p.m.        Family Oriented Storytelling

3:00 p.m.        Special Local Tellers

5:00 p.m.        Dulcimer Concert

6:30 p.m.        Bluegrass Music

8:00 p.m.        Ghost Stories guaranteed to thrill and chill listeners of all ages.

 

The climax of this year's festival will again be the night of ghost stories. Featured tellers include Glenda Bonin, Pat Mendoza, Lyn Ford, Lloyd Arneach, and Faye Wooden. "Not-too-scary" stories will start at 8:00 p.m., followed by scarier stories for the brave at heart. 

 

Neighbors and visitors alike are encouraged to come spend a special day at the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Please remember to dress appropriately for the weather, bring a flashlight, a blanket for seating on the ground, and snacks or drinks. Food will be available throughout the afternoon and picnic facilities are nearby for those who would like to use them.
