"At this point we do not know when we will able to reopen the bathroom," said Superintendent Niki Stephanie Nicholas. "We are considering a number of options including replacing the bathroom with port-a-potties. It is unfortunate that money from other projects will now have to be used to repair the senseless destruction." Yahoo Falls is one of the most scenic and heavily used areas on the Kentucky side of the park. The time and money spent repairing the damage to the facility takes away from and delays other much needed park projects. National Park Service Rangers are asking for your help in protecting the resources and putting a stop to this type of behavior. If you have any information regarding this crime, please contact the Chief Ranger's Office at (423) 569 2404, extension 263, or e-mail at e-mail us. |
